Reef Safe Mineral Sun Balm

Buck the funk that comes in chemical sunscreens and go the all natural route! Buck Ridge Soap Company began making this amazing Reef Safe Mineral Sun Balm a couple of years ago at a customer's request. They wanted something safe for people, aquatic plants and wildlife that didn't smell like synthetic coconut and would help keep them from burning to a crisp when in the sun.

So we created this balm that is chock full of zinc, in fact contains 20% non-nano zinc along with our moisturizing lotion bar formula and the addition of carrot and raspberry oils.

This balm is lightly scented in fact most say it has no scent at all and contains no petroleum products, only natural oils and butters like shea, mango and cocoa butters. It is entirely non-GMO and safe to use for all ages. In fact, because of the high zinc content, this balm is helpful with heat rash and diaper rash as well and if you forget to put on sunscreen it can help take the sting out of a sunburn (or other mild burns). 

Our sun balm comes in a black 3 ounce reusable metal tin. This all natural sun balm shields your skin for up to 80 minutes in the water protecting you from the sun's harmful UVA/UVB rays. 

Super safe for everyone because this natural balm doesn't enter your blood stream like chemical sunscreens do either. Most traditional sunscreens are made of chemicals, such as Oxybenzone and Octinoxate, and can leech into your bloodstream through your skin. These chemicals are endocrine disrupting and in some cases cancer causing, as well as reef destroying. A natural sun balm is a much better option to protect your skin plus our sun balm is moisturizing and residue-free. Our 'waterproof' ingredient is mainly derived from locally sourced beeswax that seals in the protective elements and seals out water.

INSTRUCTIONS Apply and rub into skin as needed. This physical barrier to the sun, sits on top of your skin like a shirt. The more often you apply, the more protection you get. Reapply at least every 2 hours of normal activity, or immediately after getting wet. Provides moderate protection against sunburn. For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Stop use & call a doctor if a rash occurs. Store at room temperature, it will melt at 80F. Do not ingest. Keep out of reach of children. Broad spectrum safeguards against UVB & UVA rays. 30 SPF.
